AmaWaterways has unveiled big plans for 2025 following a record-breaking year in 2024.

Growth plans for this year include an expansion of cruise offerings, with new ships, itineraries, and enhanced collaborations with travel partners.

Rudi Schreiner, co-founder and president of AmaWaterways, attributed the company’s strong performance to its continued focus on immersive guest experiences and robust support for travel advisors.

New Irineraries and Ships

The upcoming year will see AmaWaterways launch fresh travel experiences on iconic rivers, including:

• Best of Danube: This new roundtrip itinerary from Budapest will take travellers through cities such as Bratislava and Vienna. It features 15 departures in 2025, including early-season sailings on February 23 and March 2 aboard AmaMagna. Later voyages will use ships like AmaBella, AmaReina, AmaViola, and AmaLea. Schreiner called this itinerary his top pick for the year, with early-season departures offering unique views of the Danube.
• Grand River Cruises: These extended 14-night voyages combine two popular seven-night itineraries for a more immersive experience. Options like Grand Seine & Rhône or Grand Danube will allow guests to explore diverse regions with seamless transfers between cruises.
• AmaSintra in Portugal: The new AmaSintra will debut on the Douro River in April, offering luxurious experiences on the seven-night ‘Enticing Douro’ itinerary, showcasing Portugal’s vineyards and cultural landmarks.
• AmaMagdalena and AmaMelodia in Colombia: Two custom-designed ships, AmaMagdalena (60 guests) and AmaMelodia (64 guests), will begin cruising Colombia’s waterways in March and June, respectively. Their seven-night itineraries, ‘Magic of Colombia’ and ‘Wonders of Colombia,’ will feature highlights such as Barranquilla’s Carnaval celebrations, live jazz, paola rides and cultural walking tours.

Inclusive and Diverse Experiences

AmaWaterways will continue its efforts to welcome guests from diverse backgrounds and interests. ‘Soulful Experience ‘cruises highlighting Black history and culture, and ‘Latin Touch’ cruises, designed for Spanish-speaking travellers, will return in 2025.
