Punta Cana – Grupo Piñero has been awarded the Group Winner 2016 prize, as best tourist company in the Caribbean, thanks to the quality and safety of its hotels and resorts. According to the British company Cristal International Standards, which awards this prestigious prize after evaluating hotel systems worldwide for their health and safety aspects under the E-Cristal programme's standards, “this prize further establishes Grupo Piñero as a quality benchmark in our continental region”.   The awards ceremony took place on April 22, 2016 at the Bahia Principe Bavaro Resort, in the Dominican Republic, and was attended by several members of the company. The event was also attended by officials from the Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Tourism. Receiving the prize on behalf of Bahia Principe was, the Deputy Chair for Quality and Innovation, Lydia Piñero. She praised the team work in achieving the Bahia Principe resorts’ quality standards and describe the award as “an honour in recognition of our efforts to achieve excellence and it serves as encouragement for us to continue working to improve our travellers’ experiences”. The prizes are awarded on the basis of evaluations made following monthly spot-checks.   The company Cristal International Standards aims to highlight hotels that robustly and regularly achieve exceptionally high levels of quality, health and safety. It does this by periodically monitoring the hotel facilities, food and other parameters which affect the peace of mind of clients.
