News / Canada's Lynx Air launches new Tampa flights
The flights will depart from Toronto and Montreal
The Calgary, Alberta-based airline, Lynx Air, has announced it will be expanding its services in the United States to a new popular Florida destination. Lynx Air will begin nonstop service from two cities in Canada to Tampa International Airport (TPA). The new service will begin this upcoming fall on November 16.
Continuing expansion into the United States
Lynx Air, which was only created 15 months ago, will continue its expansion from Canada into the United States. The airline will soon connect Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Montreal Pierre Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to the popular Florida destination of Tampa.
Lynx Air's eventual goal is to offer 66 total services to Tampa, connecting the city to Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver.
Lynx Air will be offering new affordable options to passengers attempting to explore the United States.
Lynx Air is rapidly expanding as a newly branded airline
The airline completed its rebranding from Enerjet to Lynx Air by operating its first flight on April 7, 2022. Since then, it has begun service at 17 destinations across North America, with five of them in the United States. It operates across major Canadian airports but is passed at the Calgary International Airport (YYC).
Currently, the airline operates seven new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. It has a total of 50 new 737 MAX aircraft on order and plans to have ten operating aircraft by the end of this year. It is looking to have a fleet of 46 aircraft over the next four to five years.
Lynx Air took delivery of its seventh 737 MAX in May earlier this year. The aircraft, registered as C-GLYX, was delivered on May 1st after departing from Boeing Field (BFI) in Washington.
The 737 provides enough reach for the airline to operate across North America. Earlier this year, the airline also flew its first flight to Las Vegas, connecting Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) to Calgary International Airport. Also in February, Lynx Airlines launched its first flight to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). This route also operates from Calgary International Airport.
