News / Despite the pandemic, OTN nearly doubles New2Travel program enrollment
OASIS travel network increases New2Travel enrollments
January 11 - OASIS Travel Network, an award-winning host travel agency, continues to prioritize the needs of travel advisors as recovery from the pandemic slowly begins. OTN’s New2Travel program, which has seen hundreds of completions since its inception in 2015, offers in-depth training for entrepreneurs who want to start a travel business and hit the ground running. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 saw a 2.5 times increase of new-to-industry enrollments vs. experienced advisors becoming members of OTN.
The self-paced program, which is online and activity-based, includes 16 in-depth modules and webinars, with additional suggested material and courses to further enhance participant’s knowledge of the industry—a necessary skillset in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Quick access to accurate information is important to every travel advisor, but even more so to folks who are new to the industry,” said Kelly Bergin, President, Oasis Travel Network. “A segment of the New2Travel training instructs new advisors how and where to find this essential information.”
Because OTN is a boutique-style host agency, program participants could expect the same approach to be reflected within New2Travel’s highly-specialized content.
“We’ve developed this program to help you become successful much faster than doing it on your own,” Bergin explained, stressing that the need for knowledgeable travel advisors is greater than ever. “We realize some host agencies offer lower priced programs but New2Travel by OASIS is a guided in-depth training that takes you through everything you need to know, step-by-step. Because we are more of a boutique host, we can provide more individualized attention.”
OTN helps jump-start the careers of its graduates by sharing expertise, welcoming them to the OTN community of entrepreneurs and offering:
• Membership
• Online training and certifications
• Cutting-edge technology for marketing, booking and managing, demonstrating professionalism
• Websites with consumer cruise and hotel booking engines
• Individualized branding for each agent or agency
• $500 credit for print mail marketing
• In person or virtual boot camp training
• Discounted travel opportunities
“When you join OASIS Travel Network, you’ll become a trained professional with global connections and access to amenities consumers don’t have,” Bergin said. “You’ll be associated with an agency that’s a top 10 member of Signature Travel Network, giving OTN members the most advanced marketing technology in the industry. Travel really is a fast paced, exciting industry with unlimited income potential—especially as travel begins to gear up again.”
With many travel advisors retiring or leaving the business, Bergin emphasizes that it’s an ideal time to start a travel career. “There will be more demand than ever—especially for travel advisors who can help make sense of new regulations and travel insurance.”
A testament to the effectiveness and success of the program, 92% of those who have completed the New2Travel training are still active with OTN.
“I had previously taken part in a different training program which left me feeling very lost and not at all prepared. When I searched for a program that would actually prepare me to become a travel agent, I picked the OASIS New2Travel program because of all the great benefits that came with the training,” said Pete Monfre, a New2Travel graduate and Owner of Midwest Travel Club. “After participating in boot camp, I found myself prepared, full of confidence, and secure in knowing I have a team of experts that are just a phone call or email away to support me as I follow my dream!”
