With new nonstop service from Toronto to Pointe-à-Pitre launching on December 20, 2025, getting to the Guadeloupe Islands is easier than ever. Operated by Air Canada throughApril 11, 2026, the new route opens the door for English-speaking Canadians to discover this stunning French-Caribbean archipelago.
Air Canada has connected Montreal to Pointe-à-Pitre for nearly 50 years, offering four to six weekly flightsyear-round. Air France also serves the route, while Air Transat currently offers seasonal winter service. Starting February 18, 2026, Air Transat will launch a new nonstop route from Quebec City. The airline has also recently announced that its Montreal - Pointe-à-Pitre service will become year-round, with two weekly flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays, giving travellers even more access to the Guadeloupe Islands.
With these new connections, the Guadeloupe Islands are more accessible than ever, inviting travellers to discover the diverse experiences the archipelago has to offer. Canadian interest in the Guadeloupe Islands has grown by 67% in the past four years, with more than 100,000 Canadians visiting annually. That number is expected to reach 150,000 by 2030 as more travellers discover this French-Caribbean gem.
From golden to black sand, the Guadeloupe Islands are pure postcard beauty. On Marie-Galante, Anse Canot glows with soft golden sand, turquoise waters, and peaceful views of mainland Guadeloupe. Across on Basse-Terre, Malendure Beach shines with its black volcanic sand and rich marine life. Located within the Cousteau Reserve, it’s a top spot for snorkelling, kayaking, and swimming with sea turtles.
For adventure seekers, Grande-Terre also provides ideal conditions for windsurfing, kitesurfing, and wing foiling thanks to its steady trade winds. Nature lovers can hike through the tropical forests of La Soufrière volcano, explore hidden waterfalls such as the Carbet Falls, or take a boat tour to spot whales and dolphins off the coast of Basse-Terre between December and April, which is one of the most unforgettable experiences in the Caribbean.
