Drift Palm Springs brings its own bold blend of high design to an area known for continually raising the bar on aesthetics. Set firmly amongst the bustle of downtown Palm Springs, the boutique hotel beckons guests with the allure of an upscale, breezy Baja inspired restaurant and a resort-style pool featuring custom cabanas and mountain views. Infusing the brand's industrial-chic palate with mid-century touches, Drift Palm Springs marks TMC Hospitality's third property under the Drift Hotels moniker. The picturesque and spacious accommodations coupled with its proximity to famed architectural gems like Frey House II and hiking sites such as the Museum Trail, make Drift Palm Springs perfect for any and all who are interested in engaging with the mystique of the storied local history.

Desert design

Designed in partnership with Folklor and Palm Springs-based o2 Architecture, Drift Palm Springs fuses the Spanish Colonial and Moorish desert architecture with art and furniture by notable designers such as WAKA-WAKA and Sean Spellman. Interiors make use of materials such as Italian brick and cedar, further highlighting the artwork, greenery and natural light throughout the spaces. Across the hotel, there is a subtle yet important architectural emphasis on forms and colors that are reflective of and preserve the desert environment while creating space for indoor-outdoor activities.

Suite dreams

Drift Palm Springs' guestrooms and suites feature earth tones and organic materials like steel and birch wood, a contrast to the pops of colors like rose and olive which dance across each space. Room types include the Studio, One Bedroom Suite, Two Bedroom Suite, Three Bedroom Suite and Four Bedroom Suite (Standard and Premium Mountain View), tailoring towards individuals, couples and group travelers alike with suites ranging up to 1,629 square feet in size with kitchens and living rooms within. Each offers amenities including custom-scented bath products with notes of desert marigold and sandalwood, spacious balconies or patios with a hammock chair and handmade furnishings and décor from Mexican artisans including LUTECA, MINNA and Veta.

Sip, savor & gather

The boutique hotel is home to two adjoining eateries, Maleza and Drift Pool Bar. Helmed by Chef Ysaac Ramirez in partnership with Jorge Espindola and Chef Cesar Pita of San José del Cabo-based Roots and Roads, Maleza is an all-day, upscale Baja restaurant featuring a sleek wrap around bar and floor-to-ceiling garage doors leading to a relaxed outdoor lounge. Seasonal, family-style menu items such as the Braised Pork Shank with mole coloradito and the Chile Relleno made with vegan chorizo pay homage to the brand's first location. The rustic menu complements the thoughtful beverage list of rare Mexican spirits, craft cocktails and Drift collaborations with Miller Family Vineyards and La Luna Mezcal. Drift Pool Bar caters to guests alongside the expansive resort-style pool, which features eight custom daybeds and loungers and breathtaking views of the San Jacinto mountains. The bar offers bites like Beet Aguachile and Adobo Fish Tacos in addition to a refreshing agave-focused beverage menu. The neighboring Desert Lawn featuring cozy fire pits and a cacti fence as well as a second-floor indoor-outdoor event space overlooking the pool are both available for buyouts, built with social affairs, weddings and corporate meetings in mind. For more intimate gatherings, guests can cater Maleza or prepare meals in-room, sourcing products from the Drift Pantry, a curated marketplace within each suite stocked with locally sourced items, as well as an ample wine and beer selection.
