The Traitors Effect proves ‘Faithful’ to Scottish tourism with fans flocking to the country

Britain’s finest sightseeing and award-winning company, Evan Evans Tours, has reported an increase in demand for its Scotland tours following the end of the second season of the Scottish-based reality television show, The Traitors Canada with host and Canadian actress, Karine Vanasse. The guided tour company, which was awarded the Tripadvisor ‘Travellers’ Choice Awards Winner 2024’1 has reported a remarkable +88.5 per cent2 surge in Canadian-based searches for their Edinburgh & Scotland tour pages since the beginning of January 2025. Evan Evans attributes this heightened interest to the show's popularity and its captivating portrayal of Scottish locations along with an increase in bookings from fans keen on exploring the country. This surge of interest has sparked a ‘Traitors-effect’ across Scottish tourism, with fans and clients flocking to the country’s Celtic historic cities and scenic Highlands.
CTV’s The Traitors Canada has become a fan favourite with the completion of the second season last December 2024, engaging viewers with its murder mystery game and intricate web of deception. The show is now one of Canada’s most-watched and unscripted reality competition series since it is also available on Crave and Amazon Prime. The French-Canadian version of the show has helped the franchise increase its national popularity. Interest in The Traitors Castle has also seen Google Searches up +188 per cent3, as it was revealed that the program was filmed at Ardross Castle, just over half an hour from Inverness– resulting in Evan Evans introducing a new castles blog post.
