Booking.com research highlights luxury accommodations as a key factor in travel destination choices for nearly half (47%) of global travelers
For many, travel is all about indulging and living their best lives, with Booking.com research revealing that for almost half (47%)* of global travelers, luxury accommodation is a key factor in deciding on their travel destination. As the long, warm summer nights are behind us, now could be the perfect time to indulge in a luxurious, celeb-style getaway. As we are no stranger to celebrity stays, this year, why not level up a getaway that’s A-list approved? For the fifth (18%) of travelers who would wish to actually meet a famous celebrity from a show or movie on their travels, we have compiled a list of top holiday destinations of the rich and famous and best places to stay like a celebrity and increase the odds of mixing with the stars.
Aspen, Colorado, United States
As things cool down, many of the rich and famous head to snowier climes, taking to Aspen’s slopes. This must-ski and must-see spot is popular with famous faces including Mariah Carey, Katy Perry and Leonardo DiCaprio for its glorious mountain vistas. Nestled amongst Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, Aspen is home to four ski resorts, with Aspen Mountain, or Ajax as it's often referred to, boasting ski routes straight into Downtown. After celeb-spotting on the slopes, visitors to Aspen can visit the luxury shopping on offer or soak up the local culture at the Aspen Art museum. In order to participate in this survey, respondents had to be 18 years of age or older, had to have traveled at least once in the past 12 months, and planning to travel in 2023 and be either the primary decision maker or involved in the decision making of their travel. The survey was taken online and took place in January and February 2023.
