Over 81,000 bottles of champagne and wine will be poured onboard two Holland America Line ships, in celebration of what could possibly be the two longest roundtrip voyages departing on the same day from the same port.

Both Zuiderdam and Volendam left Port Everglades on Jan. 3 on voyages that will combine for 202 days, visiting 43 countries and 95 ports of call before returning to Fort Lauderdale.

Zuiderdam has embarked on a 128-day Grand World Voyage that will circumnavigate the globe, marking Holland America’s first world cruise since before the cruise industry’s pause due to the global pandemic. Overnight stays include Panama, French Polynesia, Australia, South Africa and the Netherlands.

Volendam, meanwhile, has embarked on the 74-day Grand South America and Antarctica voyage, completely circumnavigating South America and completing a four-day Antarctic cruising experience.

Other fun facts about the voyages include:

• Meals served: 900,000
• Specialty coffee drinks brewed: 35,000
• Gallons of ice cream served: 29,000
• Cocktails served: 155,000
• Eggs used: 1,100,000
• Nautical miles sailed: More than 52,000 (enough to drive from Miami to Seattle and back nine times)
• Live performances: 2,500 (more than Aerosmith has played in their lifetime)

Earlier this week, Holland America unveiled new details about its 2024 Alaska season, which includes a new 28-day Arctic Circle itinerary. It also recently provided a sneak peek at its 2024 Europe season, complete with new itineraries and homeports, longer cruises and more Northern capitals.
