Hurtigruten Expeditions
The new itineraries promise a deeper cultural and natural exploration

HX Expeditions (formerly Hurtigruten Expeditions) is launching the first-ever cruises from New York to Greenland, roundtrip from Newark Liberty International Airport.

Departing on June 21 and crafted with Greenlandic communities, the new itineraries explore Greenland’s west coast aboard the hybrid-powered MS Fridtjof Nansen.

Joining all voyages is Aleqatsiaq Peary, an Inuk storyteller, musician and hunter from Qaanaaq, who is also the great-great-great-grandson of Robert Peary, the first person to reach the North Pole.

Options include ‘Icy Giants of Disko Bay (June 21); ‘Mythical Lands of the North’ (July 1 and 15); ‘Farthest North to Thule and Kane Basin’ (July 29); and ‘Northwest Passage – Through the Arctic Labyrinth’ (Aug. 16).

The new itineraries also feature flights on United Airlines’ direct route to Nuuk. HX Expeditions’ dedicated flight allocations ensure seamless travel, says the company, with all-inclusive packages covering excursions, meals, drinks and more.
