News / Meliá returns to Mexico City with INNSiDE, focusing on the bleisure traveler
INNSiDE Mexico Roma Norte will open in June, marking the Group’s first hotel in the capital and its ninth in the country

Meliá Hotels International returns to Mexico City, bringing its lifestyle brand INNSiDE by Meliá to the creative heart of Roma Norte, one of the capital's most cosmopolitan and vibrant neighborhoods. With the opening of INNSiDE Mexico Roma Norte, the Company strengthens its presence in a key growth market in the Americas, aligning with a rising travel trend that blurs the lines between business, leisure, and lifestyle.
Mexico City's dynamic business environment, combined with its rich cultural, culinary, and social scene, has given rise to a new way of traveling—one that encourages longer stays and deeper engagement with the destination beyond work. This trend is driving the growth of bleisure travel, where business and leisure seamlessly converge.
Roma Norte stands out as one of the areas that best embodies this shift, blending historic architecture with a thriving culinary and cultural offering. In this setting, INNSiDE by Meliá introduces fluid, adaptable spaces that respond to the rhythm and energy of each guest—combining contemporary design, versatile environments, and an authentic connection to the local scene, inviting guests to experience the destination from within.
The new hotel, featuring 91 rooms and set to open on June 8, has been conceived as a space where hospitality meets urban living, with a strong focus on experiences and the active use of communal areas. Highlights include a rooftop with restaurant and bar, a gym, meeting spaces, and a lobby with bar and terrace designed to extend the day at an unhurried pace. Every corner encourages guests to connect, unwind, or work with complete flexibility in an open, dynamic atmosphere. The guest experience is further enriched by a curated program of activities linked to the city's history, culture, and creative talent.
The opening of INNSiDE Mexico Roma Norte also comes at a time of strong global visibility for the city, supported by major international events such as the FIFA World Cup 2026.
From ONIRIUS—an investment and hotel development firm leading the asset management of the property—the project reflects evolving industry dynamics. The firm is overseeing the hotel's opening, ensuring the project is delivered to the highest standards.
Mexico, a key market in Meliá's expansion strategy
Mexico is one of Meliá Hotels International's priority markets, both for its dynamism and its strategic relevance to the Group. The country has consolidated its position as the second-largest market in terms of revenue and workforce, with a strong presence in key destinations such as Cancún, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Cozumel, Puerto Vallarta, and Los Cabos.
This footprint is now complemented by INNSiDE Mexico Roma Norte, reinforcing the Group's commitment to major urban destinations. At the same time, Meliá plans to open Zel Cozumel this year and has recently completed the reopening of Paradisus Cancún following an extensive renovation that enhances its experiential luxury offering. Looking ahead, the Company will continue to expand its presence in Mexico with the upcoming opening of its first hotel in San Miguel de Allende under the ME by Meliá luxury brand.
