A mere 20 minutes from Varadero airport, Melia Varadero has so much to offer their guests. Located on one of the best beaches in Cuba, with 490 rooms, this resort is perfect for small weddings, family vacations or a solo stay. Here are five reasons to stay at this resort.

5. The Level Section

Located on the fifth floor, those seeking a more luxurious or sophisticated stay will want to be found here. Be welcomed by The Level Section's own check-in area and get settled into one of their three suite options. Guests will get extra perks such as a later check-out, a private lounge, free Wi-Fi and discounts on massages.

4. Golf Lovers

Walking distance to the resort is Varadero Golf Club. Designed by Golf Design Services LTD, this 18 holes course is divided into two areas. Golfers encountering holes 10-18 will require more technical skills. Open every day of the week from 7am-7pm, guests can practice their swings at the Driving Range or enjoy a snack at the Club House. 2. Restaurants

From the Steakhouse to Sakura’s Japanese inspired food, guests will never go hungry. Reservations are taken from 9am-2:30pm and can be done for their entire stay. Many restaurants are booked up to two days in advance so it is good to have different options picked out just in case. Don’t worry if you don’t get into one of the six speciality restaurants, Melia Varadero has a buffet which is open during breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Late night cravings

For those late night owls, the cafeteria is open 24 hours and you can grab food and drinks of your choice.

1. Activities

On the resort

Join one of their Zumba classes held throughout the day, volleyball games on the beach and in the pool or snorkelling classes. If you are looking for a bit of nightlife, the resort has an event every night from dancing on the beach to leading a line dance in the disco.

Off the resort

Book an excursion through the hotel. If you are looking for a whole day trip, go visit Havana (around 90 CUC) or get on a Catamaran (60 CUC). You can even swim in a cave for half a day for only 40 CUC. Please note these prices are subject to change.
