Avalon Waterways
Customer survey reveals demand for longer, more in-depth getaways

Avalon Waterways is playing the long game, unveiling a boatload of new cruises that set sail for 10 or more days.

Following its ‘Wish List’ survey on the cusp of the New Year, which garnered more than 16,600 responses, the company found that cruisers are in search of longer, more in-depth getaways. More than half (57%) said they’d like to book a two-week vacation for their next cruise, 23% more than those who said they’ll be booking a one-week trip. Another 10% said they’re considering three-week options.

To meet both interest and demand, Avalon Waterways has unveiled new longer itineraries and city-stay combinations for 2025.

These include the following:

10+ Days:

  • NEW The Netherlands in Bloom (10 days, to/from Amsterdam)
  • NEW Illuminations of the Danube (10 days, from Vilshofen to Budapest)

Two Weeks:

  • NEW The Danube from Germany to Romania (15 days, from Vilshofen to Oltenita)
  • NEW Timeless Rivers of Europe: The Rhine & Seine (15 days, from Basel to Paris)

Three Weeks:

  • NEW European Masterpiece: The Rhine, Seine & Rhône Revealed (22 days, from Basel to Arles)
  • NEW From Romania to the North Sea (24 days from Oltenita to Amsterdam)

Several of Avalon’s new, longer cruise options also invite cruisers to add pre- and post-cruise stays in destinations like Lucerne, Nice and Prague. Visit avalonwaterways.ca for more details.
