Change of quarantine period for unvaccinated visitors
Effective January 30th, 2022 the period of quarantine for unvaccinated visitors is reduced from 5 days to 3 days, with a re-test on day 4 to exit quarantine. Persons are encouraged to book 5 days of quarantine accommodation to allow for return of test results.
Acceptance of 1-day rapid PCR test for entry into Barbados
Accepted tests include tests which were taken at an accredited or recognized laboratory by a healthcare provider via a nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal sample (or both). LAMP tests, Rapid Antigen tests, self-administered tests or home kits and tests using saliva samples will NOT be accepted.
Removal of mandatory second test for fully vaccinated visitors
Fully vaccinated visitors, who arrive with a valid negative COVID-19 PCR test result, may be notified b health officials at the Grantley Adams International Airport, that they have been selected for a randomized arrival Rapid Antigen test on entry. This replaces the mandatory second COVID-19 PCR test for a fully vaccinated visitors previously in place. See page 4-8 for additional details.
Fully vaccinated visitors selected for a randomized Rapid Antigen test on arrival must follow the below process:
- Show proof of a negative RT-PCR COVID-10 test taken no more than 3 days prior to arrival in Barbados OR a valid negative Rapid COVID-19 PCR test result done 1 day prior to arrival in Barbados, as outlined in the Barbados Travel Protocols
- Take the Rapid Antigen arrival test as directed at the airport free of charge
- Await the results of the Rapid Antigen Test (no quarantine required due to short turnaround time for results)
- Depart the airport via the transportation of your choice
Unvaccinated visitors continue to adhere to the protocols outlined on pages 9-11.
