Canada remains a priority market for Belize, with new and existing seasonal air service providing travellers with additional options

Belize brought a taste of the tropics to Canada this month, wrapping a three-city roadshow that put new airlift, destination updates and travel advisor resources in the spotlight.

The Belize Tourism Board (BTB), together with partners from the Belize Hotel Association, Best Western Plus Belize Biltmore Plaza and Darah Travel, hosted events from Sept. 9-11, connecting with hundreds of Canadian travel industry professionals.

The roadshow highlighted Belize’s growing accommodation inventory, destination experiences and improved air access from Canada, including new service from Winnipeg and expanded options from Calgary, Montreal and Toronto.

“Canada remains one of Belize’s most important international markets, and the opportunity to connect directly with travel advisors, tour operators and industry partners is invaluable,” said Gale Malic-Ozaeta, Marketing and Communications Manager at the Belize Tourism Board. “Through this roadshow, we were able to share what’s new in the destination, reinforce the ease of access from Canada and equip partners with the tools and knowledge needed to confidently sell Belize in Canada.

The delegation began in Toronto at the ACTA Toronto Travel Industry Trade Show, where representatives met with advisors and took part in educational sessions focused on travel trends and destination opportunities.

Belize also participated in the inaugural Central America Tourism Agency (CATA) Roadshow in Canada, with events in Toronto on Sept. 9 and Montreal on Sept. 10.

The roadshow wrapped in Calgary on Sept. 11 with the Belize Calgary Connect Happy Hour Reception. Advisors received destination updates covering Belize’s cultural heritage, adventure tourism, sustainability efforts, accommodations and attractions.

More Air Access from Canada

Canada remains a priority market for Belize, with new and existing seasonal air service providing travellers with additional options.

WestJet is scheduled to launch new seasonal nonstop service between Winnipeg and Belize in December 2026. The route will join existing seasonal direct flights from Toronto with Air Canada and WestJet, Calgary with WestJet and Montreal with Air Canada.

Belize is also marking its 45th year of Independence with the Belize at 45 promotion, offering up to 45% off accommodation rates at participating properties. The offer is available to book through Oct. 31, 2026 for travel through Nov. 15, 2026.

Tools for Travel Advisors

The Belize Tourism Board is also encouraging Canadian advisors to complete its newly relaunched Belize Travel Specialist Program.

The program includes destination training, sales resources, updates and access to future FAM opportunities, giving advisors tools to build their Belize expertise.

Canadian advisors can register through the Belize Travel Specialist portal at travelbelizeportal.com.

Belize’s tourism offering spans reef and marine experiences, rainforest adventures, ancient Maya sites, cultural experiences, cuisine and island escapes. The country is also home to the Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System, the Great Blue Hole and Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary.
