Forget the first brick: Club Med marked the official ground-breaking of its new resort in the Dominican Republic – its first luxury 5-Trident property in the Caribbean – with the laying of the resort’s very first cabana bed.

The all-inclusive resort on the Dominican Republic’s northeast coast will be Club Med’s first 5-Trident resort to open in the Americas, joining Club Med’s Exclusive Collection. Club Med Michès is scheduled to open December 2019 and will be the very first operating resort in the soon-to bedeveloped region.

Located about an hour from Punta Cana International Airport, nearby attractions include Laguna Limón, Samaná Bay and Montaña Redonda, known for its photo-famous swing.

The resort will feature a boutique resort-within-a-resort concept and adult-exclusive areas similar to Club Med Punta Cana’s Zen Oasis, children’s clubs and an array of inclusive land and water sports.
