Collette marked Travel Advisor Appreciation Month in May with a series of six in-person events across North America that combined advisor engagement, industry updates and community fundraising initiatives.
Held in Rhode Island, Burlington, Ont., Long Island, St. Louis, Halifax and Oak Brook, Ill., the reception-style gatherings brought together travel advisors to connect with the Collette team, learn about the company’s latest developments and celebrate the travel advisor community.
This year’s events were built around the theme of travel as a force for good, with Collette incorporating food drives and fundraising efforts in support of local food banks in each host community.
“Travel Advisor Appreciation Month is about creating meaningful moments of connection that help advisors learn more about our experiences and sell with confidence,” said Jaclyn Leibl-Cote, President & CEO of Collette. “Bringing that together with a shared commitment to giving back reflects the kind of partnership we value most.”
Participating advisors were encouraged to donate canned goods and make monetary contributions through on-site QR codes. To further support the effort, the Collette Foundation matched monetary donations up to $25 per contribution and donated $1 for every food item collected.
Across all six events, advisors and Collette donated 514 items and raised $1,449 for local food banks.
The donations benefited several organizations across North America, including: Feed Nova Scotia in Halifax; Burlington Food Bank in Burlington, Ont.; Long Island Cares in Long Island; Rhode Island Food Bank in Rhode Island; Operation Food Search in St. Louis; and People’s Resource Center in Oak Brook/Chicago
