News / Contiki is literally reaching for the Stars with the launch of ContikiX
The travel company is gearing up for the future launching affordable space travel
April 1 - Contiki, the global leader in adventure travel for 18-35-year-olds, have long been known as innovators in the travel industry. While travel is temporarily on pause, the brand has been future-planning and today announced the launch of ContikiX: affordable space travel exclusively for millennials and Gen Z. From sustainable advancements to exploring the coolest new destinations, this latest innovation is literally out of this world and is the first of its kind.
“Due to the pandemic and questionable state of the planet, I think a lot of people are over Earth at the moment and are looking for an escape,” says Sheralyn Berry, president of Contiki Canada. "Which is why we can’t wait to offer this once-in-a-lifetime experience to our guests in the future, and to be among the first humans to orbit Earth,” she adds.
Partnering with an undisclosed tech firm who work closely with Elon Musk’s aerospace company SpaceX and Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactica, travellers of the future can orbit the Earth and experience the blue planet from more than 300 km up. Complete with delicious meals prepared by an award-winning chef, spacious rooms with comfy beds and an on-board dancefloor – it’s got all the classic Contiki inclusions you know and love.
“We pride ourselves on being ahead of the curve, always developing new and unique experiences for youths looking for a good time and the extraordinary. Now with ContikiX, together, we are literally reaching for the stars," Berry concludes.
