News / Porter inaugurates its first Western Canada route between Montréal and Vancouver
Expansion reflects Porter's commitment to connecting key Canadian destinations
Porter Airlines is inaugurating service between Vancouver International Airport (YVR). The route marks Porter’s first Western Canada destination from Montréal.
All passengers will experience Porter’s genuine hospitality and elevated onboard service, including free, fast WiFi, a selection of premium snacks, and free beer and wine served in glassware. Priority check-in, extra legroom seats, premium pre-mixed cocktails, and fresh, healthy meals are also available with the all-inclusive PorterReserve fares or purchased à la carte with PorterClassic fares.
The new route begins with one daily roundtrip flight operated with Porter’s state-of-the-art 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The two-by-two configuration means there are no middle seats on any Porter flight.
The scheduled service offers a variety of connections to Eastern Canada via YUL, including Halifax, Toronto-Pearson and Toronto-City, complementing existing daily non-stop service between Toronto-Pearson and Ottawa to Vancouver.
Porter’s codeshare partnership with Air Transat provides convenient connections from YUL throughout Europe, to destinations like Paris and London. Travellers will benefit from more choice and seamless connections.
Service from Montréal to Edmonton and Calgary begins later this spring. With the launch of the three new western destinations, Porter will operate 8 non-stop routes out of Montréal.
