News / Porter’s new YYZ – PHX route performing well: Eldebs
Porter Airlines’ new Phoenix route has been proving quite successful for the airline
Porter Airlines’ new Phoenix route linking Toronto Pearson and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has been proving quite successful for the airline.
The daily nonstop flights use Porter’s E195-E2 aircraft. From YYZ, flights depart at 10 a.m., arriving at PHX at 12 p.m. On the return leg, flights depart PHX 1 p.m., arriving at YYZ at 8:05 p.m.
Via Porter’s YYZ hub, connections are available to and from Montreal, Ottawa and Halifax.
Porter Airlines passengers are likely familiar with the carrier’s flights from its fabulously convenient Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ). Now that Porter has expanded its network to include many more routes, the longer-haul destinations are operating out of YYZ.
Two tips to assist passengers flying with Porter from YYZ:
- When flying with Porter from YYZ, the cutoff to drop off checked baggage before a flight is 90 minutes prior to departure. This is unlike YTZ where the cutoff is only 60 minutes prior to departure. More information is at FlyPorter.com.
- Clients should give themselves at least two hours for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection pre-clearance line at YYZ, especially if they’re using the regular line and not the smartphone app line. Once a passenger enters the regular line, they cannot switch to the smartphone app line.
These longer Porter flights from YYZ present a great opportunity to upsell clients from PorterClassic to PorterReserve for additional legroom onboard.
