Sandos Hotels & Resorts is proud to announce the addition of two new chefs to the culinary team at Sandos Playacar: Nicola Gelli and Keshar Singh Negi. Both professionals bring outstanding international experience, and as corporate executive chefs, they are elevating the resort’s culinary offerings to a world-class level.
One of the first restaurants to undergo a transformation is the Italian eatery “Il Piemonte”. Its cuisine will be led by Chef Nicola Gelli, who joins Sandos' team not only to refresh the menu but also to share his extensive experience by training the staff in techniques and concepts that bring authenticity and unique flavors to every dish.
With over 25 years of international experience, Mr. Gelli has led high-end kitchens across Europe, the Caribbean, and Asia, holding key positions such as Executive Chef at prestigious resorts including Vinpearl (Vietnam), Sandals (Saint Lucia), and Royalton (Jamaica). Trained in the traditions of Mediterranean cuisine, Nicola has skillfully integrated Asian and Caribbean culinary techniques, establishing himself as an innovative chef focused on quality and leading multicultural teams.
One of the latest updates from the company is the transformation of the current “Asiana” restaurant into a bold new concept inspired by the rich and exquisite flavors of India.
The new Indian concept will be led by Chef Keshar Singh Negi, who brings over 25 years of experience and valuable contributions to the hospitality industry and prestigious restaurants in both India and Mexico. His expertise spans continental, Chinese, BBQ, Mexican, Italian, Thai, and fusion cuisines. He has held notable positions such as Chef de Partie at Paradisus Playa del Carmen, Specialty Chef at Palladium Costa Mujeres and Hard Rock Cancun, and Sous Chef at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos and Dreams Sapphire Resort.
With these new additions, Sandos Playacar reinforces its commitment to elevating the culinary experience within the resort through innovative proposals, authentic flavors, and an international vision aimed at offering guests a sensory experience that blends creativity, tradition, and quality in every dish.
