Immersive experiences bring Thai wellness, culture and low-carbon travel to a global energy audience while strengthening Thailand’s profile for quality tourism and international MICE

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is showcasing “Power of Journey: Healing is the New Luxury” at Gastech Exhibition and Conference 2026, from 14–17 September at BITEC in Bangkok. Through immersive tourism experiences, TAT is presenting Thailand’s strengths in wellness, living culture and responsible travel to more than 50,000 energy professionals from over 150 countries, highlighting the country’s appeal for meaningful leisure travel and international Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE).

Gastech 2026 opened with an official address by H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. He was joined by Mr. Akanat Promphan, Thailand’s Minister of Energy; Mr. Christopher Hudson, President of dmg events; Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor. Hosted by the Ministry of Energy in cooperation with the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, the event brings together government and business leaders, energy experts and investors from around the world. The programme covers the global energy transition through Leadership Roundtables, the Strategic Conference, Technical & Commercial Conference, bilateral meetings and an exhibition featuring 1,000 exhibitors.

At the TAT booth, “Feel All the Feelings” brings Thai destinations, people, lifestyles and culture to life through visual storytelling, while “20 Low Carbon Lifestyles” highlights routes linking nature, communities and local experiences with more responsible travel.

The centrepiece, “4 Senses of Authentic Heritage”, rotates through four experiences: Thai tea, introducing its flavours, aromas and preparation; the Joe Louis Puppet Show, showcasing traditional Thai small puppetry; Thai massage, presenting traditional wellness knowledge through massage techniques and herbal aromas; and Muay Thai, demonstrating Thailand’s martial art through movement, striking techniques and athletic skill. Cultural demonstrations and interactive activities throughout the event offer further engagement with Thai traditions and ways of life.

Cultural demonstrations and interactive activities throughout the event offer further engagement with Thai traditions and ways of life, with Thai herbal inhalers presented as souvenirs reflecting traditional wellness in a contemporary form.

TAT’s presence at Gastech 2026 extends Thailand’s tourism profile among global decision-makers and investors while building networks that can support future leisure and business travel. It also reinforces Thailand’s appeal to quality travellers and international MICE markets, linking the country’s capacity to host major international events with distinctive destination experiences beyond the conference venue.
