Temecula Valley: Where Summer Winds Shape the Perfect Pour
Temecula Valley Southern California Wine Country enjoys welcoming weather year-round, with warm, dry summers, cool winters, and relatively little rainfall. Summer visitors will likely experience morning mist, warm mid-day sun, afternoon Pacific breezes, and cool nights. This tempo of nature gives visitors a pleasing, natural rhythm for daily activities. Most importantly, Temecula Valley flourishes as a great wine region because of this wind flow, also known as the Rainbow Gap. In the morning hours, the wind is relatively still. But in the evening, two low-elevation spots in the coastal mountains allow cool marine air to be drawn into the Valley. More than two dozen grape varieties thrive here, including syrah, viognier, cabernet franc, zinfandel, and tempranillo.
