The Travel Industry Council of Ontario has issued a warning for Jo Albe Travel Co Inc., which the regulator says is not TICO-registered and therefore not authorized to sell travel services in Ontario.

According to TICO, the regulator has received consumer complaints alleging that Jo Albe Travel Co Inc. has been acting as a travel agent without being registered. It is alleged that consumers paid Jo Albe Travel Co Inc. for travel services that were not provided, and that refunds were not issued.

TICO has issued an Immediate Cease and Desist Notice to Jo Albe Travel Co Inc., as well as its directors, Riham Chakron (also known as Reham Shakron) and Jomaa Albelaas, ordering them to immediately stop acting or holding themselves out as travel agents in Ontario.

Charges were laid against Jo Albe Travel Co Inc., Chakron and Albelaas in March 2026. However, it is alleged they have continued to operate without registration, despite being informed of their obligations under the Travel Industry Act, 2002.

TICO is asking anyone who purchased travel services from Jo Albe Travel Co Inc., or who has information about the company’s activities, to contact the regulator at 1-888-451-8426 or tico@tico.ca.

The organization is also reminding consumers that travel agencies, booking websites and tour operators must be registered with TICO to sell travel services in Ontario. Booking with a TICO-registered business provides access to consumer protections, including the Ontario Travel Industry Compensation Fund.

Consumers can verify whether a travel business is registered by searching TICO’s online registry before making a booking.

TICO prosecutes unregistered companies and individuals to help protect consumers, maintain confidence in Ontario’s travel marketplace and support a level playing field for registered businesses.
