Travel Leaders Network says a new Vice President, Canada will be announced at a later date, as the current VP, Canada, Christine James, gets ready for her next chapter.

As reported earlier, James is retiring after 27 years with Travel Leaders Network. Her last day is set for Oct. 30.

It wasn’t an easy decision, as James said. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working closely with our members and suppliers by advocating alongside Travel Leaders leadership team on behalf of our membership. I’m still very passionate about our industry as a whole and committed to the continued success of our network, however, after careful consideration, I feel the timing is right to take a step back and reflect on what the next chapter brings.”

James’ time at the helm was marked by strong relationships, advocacy, leadership and a genuine love for the travel industry.

“Christine has been such an important part of the Canadian travel community for so many years,” said Lindsay Pearlman, President, Travel Leaders Network. “Her service, leadership and countless contributions over the past 27 years along with her commitment and genuine care for people have left an incredible mark on our organization and our industry. She will be greatly missed, and we wish her all the best as she begins this exciting new chapter.”

James said: “I feel incredibly fortunate to have spent 27 years in an industry that I truly love. What I will treasure most are the people I have met, the relationships I have built and the many friendships that have grown throughout the years. Travel is an industry built on relationships, and I have been incredibly fortunate to experience that firsthand.”

James’ leadership contributed to the growth of the Travel Leaders Network’s Canadian business with a focus on member recruitment, member service and building strong, collaborative industry partnerships.

“I have always believed that the strength of this industry comes down to the people in it,” said James. “I have had the privilege of working with so many talented, passionate people over the years and I am incredibly proud of the relationships and memories we have created together.”
