Uber’s hotel booking capability is now live in the Canadian market.
Through the Uber app users can now book accommodation powered by Expedia, through Uber’s partnership with Expedia Group. The hotels offering was first announced in April 2026.
According to reports, Canada is the second market globally to get the hotel booking feature, following the U.S. launch.
Canadians can search, book and secure rides to some 700,000+ Expedia Group-partner hotels, all through the Uber app.
The Canadian launch joins other newly active features “designed to make travel seamless,” according to the company. Those features include Travel Mode (promoted as an in-app personal concierge), Uber One International and One Search (allowing users to search for places, food, and items across Uber and Uber Eats at the same time).
Having already survived the Internet, OTAs and just about every platform imaginable jumping into the retail travel space, traditional travel advisors must now add a new online challenger to the mix, with vast global reach. The ubiquitous Uber is in 70 countries worldwide and 15,000 cities, and has 202 million monthly users.
