Travel & Selling Tips / Sandos Caracol Eco Resort celebrates Day of the Dead in Mexico
Experience how life and death are honoured in Mexico
On November 1 and 2, 2021, Sandos Caracol launches its traditional Day of the Dead celebration to honor life and death in an authentically Mexican way. From typical food from the different regions of Mexico, traditional games and shows, to a great parade of animated skulls (catrinas, in Spanish).
Sandos Caracol gets dressed in flowers and skulls during the first two days of November. This eco resort is distinguished because it’s always enhancing the Maya culture and Mexican traditions. The Day of the Dead became the biggest celebration of the year at Sandos in Playa del Carmen.
The celebration incurs no extra cost for guests staying the nights of November 1 or 2, 2021 at Sandos Caracol and Sandos Playacar (and for those who purchase a Daypass).
Children and adults from all over the world can enjoy making their own sugar skull, painting their faces, enjoy a concert and Maya ceremonies, as well as witness the traditional Day of the Dead’s altar display and contest.
There will be fun, culture and mysticism all in one place. Among the most memorable activities is the Mexican cemetery, where guests get to be a part of this tradition by writing the names of their deceased on the graves and dedicating them a night like no other.
Exhibitions, tours, contests, poetry and delicious Mexican dishes promise to mark the life of everyone who visits Sandos Caracol this Day of the Dead and dares to experience, first hand, how life and death are honored in Mexico.
