Yes, in past 5 years we have seen a steady increase in sales for the Luxury Collection, and all high-end products.
What are your tips for selling to high-end clientele?
Don't be shy about offering luxury options for customers. If they really get what is the most important to them, to have their dream vacation, a lot of them will listen carefully to the options a travel agent can offer, if they are really in sync with the customers' needs.This comes back to how really listening and understanding what they are looking for is key. And if a customer wants luxury, they should go all in, according to their preferences.
If the client’s priority is to relax and spend some private time, they should seriously consider adding a little extra for a room with a private terrace or the swim-up suite.
What are the latest luxury travel trends?
We see more and more travellers looking for a more secluded experience, so swim-up rooms, rooftop terraces, private jacuzzis, and so on are increasingly popular. More and more people want their own space, so rooms are not strictly rooms anymore.They have more living space with a larger living room. More and more people are enjoying the best food and the best wine at the home and they are looking for the same things on their vacations.
What is Transat doing to attract more luxury travellers?
Our strength is that we have a wide product offering, a lot larger than out sole Luxury Collection. Transat was the first Canadian tour operator to offer a Luxury Collection, where every perk is already packaged, which makes it easier for the travel agent as well as for the customer.This was a good way of making it more appealing and more easily accessible to the customer. In our upcoming brochure, we are adding 6 new luxury hotels, for a total of 43 hotels in our Luxury Collection.
What are Transat Res Agents recommending for luxury clients?
The key is to truly understand the traveller's needs and what is most important to them, whether it's the food, the location of the hotel, the country, the special activities available like golf or yoga or something else.Do they want an adults-only resort or family-friendly? Do they prefer a really modern and zen-like ambience, or a more warm and cozy atmosphere?
