ACTA joined the Canadian Travel and Tourism Roundtable at a press conference in Toronto on today, urging the federal government to adopt the recommendations of the COVID-19 Testing and Screening Expert Advisory Panel report and remove the pre-departure molecular testing requirement for fully vaccinated travellers returning to Canada.
Wendy Paradis, President of ACTA, shares how travel agencies and independent travel agents are experiencing many changes and cancellations as travel approaches due to costly and complicated travel rules, “overall feeling of uncertainty is keeping people at home.”
The pre-departure molecular testing requirement is a significant barrier to all travellers, especially seniors, and the federal government is urged to remove this requirement.
