Air Canada Vacations is giving Aeroplan Members the chance to earn up to 12,000 extra points when booking select vacation packages to Mexico and the Caribbean.

Starting on Octuber 2, 2023, the tour operator has announced that along with accumulating points on the flight portion of their vacation, eligible Aeroplan Members can now earn points on their entire vacation package when booking a minimum seven-night stay from a selection of more than 240 vacation packages.

In addition, members can now earn all three Aeroplan status qualifying currencies including Status Qualifying Dollars (SQD), helping them reach Aeroplan Elite Status faster, which includes benefits like access to the Maple Leaf Lounge, priority seat selection, cabin upgrades and other priority services. SQD are earned at 25% of the total cost per Aeroplan Member, including all taxes and fees of the eligible vacation package.

Aeroplan Members can also take advantage of an exclusive 10% discount offered by Air Canada Vacations on the next booking of their activity or excursion with GetYourGuide.

In addition the awards, Air Canada Vacations highlighted a number of travel agent resources at each stop of the roadshow, including the Dream of Sun digital brochure featuring the tour operator’s complete 2023-2024 Sun Collection portfolio, as well as the second edition of its Travel Agent Toolkit, a 44-page guide that includes step-by-step instruction for using the brochure.

Travel agents in attendance also learned detailed about ACV’s updated commission policy, announced last month. Agents are now entitled to receive standard commission on any cancelled individual bookings made 45 days or more prior to departure (Cancelled with Deposit), with the exception of cruise and group bookings. Plus, the tour operator is protecting full commissions on any schedule change that provides no option of reprotection and results in a cancelled booking.
