Effective immediately, members can link their Aeroplan and World of Hyatt accounts to unlock a range of new benefits spanning flights, hotel stays and loyalty rewards

Air Canada’s Aeroplan and World of Hyatt have unveiled a new loyalty collaboration that gives members more opportunities to earn, redeem and convert points across both programs, while introducing reciprocal elite benefits and accelerated status opportunities.

Effective immediately, members can link their Aeroplan and World of Hyatt accounts to unlock a range of new benefits spanning flights, hotel stays and loyalty rewards. The partnership connects Aeroplan’s network of more than 1,300 destinations with Hyatt’s portfolio of more than 1,500 hotels and resorts worldwide.

New Redemption & Earning Opportunities

One of the biggest changes is the introduction of reciprocal redemption options. Aeroplan members can now redeem points for World of Hyatt Free Night Awards at participating Hyatt properties, with Category 1-4 and Category 1-7 awards starting at 25,000 Aeroplan points. Meanwhile, World of Hyatt members can redeem Hyatt points for a 30,000-point Aeroplan flight reward certificate that can be applied toward Air Canada and partner airline reward flights.

Hyatt is one of the world’s most admired hospitality brands, and we’re thrilled to bring World of Hyatt closer to Aeroplan members,” said Scott O’Leary, Vice President, Loyalty and Product at Air Canada. “This collaboration creates meaningful value across the full travel journey – including new ways to earn, redeem and access benefits across both programs. It’s especially exciting for eligible Aeroplan credit cardholders, who will have the ability to earn accelerated Aeroplan points and World of Hyatt points on their Hyatt purchases – a truly unique feature.

Members also gain new earning options. Aeroplan members can now earn points on eligible stays at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts or choose to receive 500 Aeroplan points per stay instead of World of Hyatt points.

For Canadian-issued Aeroplan credit cardholders, linking accounts unlocks dual earning opportunities on eligible Hyatt stays. Depending on the card, members can earn up to 2.5 Aeroplan points and two World of Hyatt Bonus Points per eligible dollar spent.

The partnership also introduces reciprocal point conversion. World of Hyatt points can be converted to Aeroplan points at a 2:1 ratio starting with 5,000 Hyatt points. Aeroplan Elite Status members gain an exclusive benefit allowing them to convert Aeroplan points into World of Hyatt Bonus Points at the same 2:1 ratio, subject to daily and weekly limits.

Eciprocal Elite Benefits

The agreement extends beyond points, with reciprocal elite status benefits designed to reward frequent travellers.

Aeroplan Elite Status members and eligible Aeroplan Premium Credit Cardholders can now participate in a 90-day World of Hyatt status challenge. Members who complete four qualifying nights earn Discoverist status, 10 nights earns Explorist status and 20 nights earns Globalist status, Hyatt’s highest published tier, which includes benefits such as complimentary breakfast for up to four guests, room upgrades when available and late checkout.

Eligible Aeroplan Premium Credit Cardholders also receive complimentary World of Hyatt Discoverist status, five Tier-Qualifying Night credits annually, two opportunities each year to complete the 90-day status challenge and the ability to earn rewards in both programs simultaneously.

On the Hyatt side, Discoverist, Explorist and Globalist members who link their accounts will receive an annual $20 CAD Air Canada flight credit. Hyatt also confirmed that later in 2026, Explorist and Globalist members will be able to register for annual challenges that provide a faster path to Aeroplan Elite Status.

We’re excited to bring World of Hyatt and Aeroplan, Canada’s leading travel loyalty program, together to make travel even more rewarding for our members,” said Laurie Blair, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Loyalty at Hyatt. “This collaboration creates more ways for members to earn, redeem and enjoy benefits across both programs, while unlocking more seamless travel journeys from start to finish.

Added Value for Travel Advisors

The announcement further strengthens Aeroplan’s portfolio of travel partnerships while giving travel advisors another value-added selling point for clients booking both Air Canada flights and Hyatt stays, particularly those who travel frequently for business or leisure and can take advantage of accelerated earning and elite status opportunities.
