News / The Best Rum Experiences in St. Kitts
Savour St. Kitts Culinary Guide
Once the Caribbean’s leading producer of sugar, St. Kitts is now home to a diverse rum scene. Be sure to tell your clients about these tasty rum experiences:
Flavoured Rum @ Shipwreck Beach Bar & Grill
One of the island’s most lively beach bars is where your clients will find great flavoured rum drinks made with Brinley Gold Shipwreck Rum. Pull up a chair at the bar on Sundays when there’s a live band that keeps the entertainment high. Hot tip! Ask for the piña colada to be made with the island’s own Shipwreck Coconut Rum Cream for a next level cocktail.
Spiced Rum @ Spice Mill Restaurant & Bar
Situated on the iconic Cockleshell Beach with incredible views of Nevis is Spice Mill Restaurant, home of Hibiscus Spirits. Made right on the property, their rum – and other spirits – are infused with high-quality hibiscus and other spices to create a superbly flavourful product. Ask for the house cocktail – a Hibiscus Red Devil.
Aged Rum @ Old Road Rum at Wingfield Estate
A visit to Old Road Rum Company can’t be missed if your clients are true rum connoisseurs. Located on the site of the oldest standing distillery in the Caribbean, with production dating back to 1675, Old Road creates molasses-based rum aged in bourbon casks for 12 years. They’ll enjoy an interactive tasting in the beautiful forested surroundings and likely be tempted to become a ‘Founding Member’ where they can claim ownership to one of the first 500 bottles made at the distillery.
