Canada Jetlines
The start-up Canadian carrier received conditional approval for pilot crew training

Transport Canada has given Canada Jetlines the green light to begin flight crew training ahead of its spring 2022 launch.

Effective immediately, the start-up Canadian carrier received conditional approval for pilot crew training. Final approval of the Pilot Training program will be granted once Transport Canada has reviewed the training, deeming it to be satisfactory.

This is an important milestone in the Air Operator Certificate process with Transport Canada,” said Eddy Doyle, CEO of Canada Jetlines. “Our first crew will start their pilot training program this month and are scheduled to have completed simulator training in the later part of February.

Doyle added what a pleasure it is to fly aboard the Airbus 320: “I haven’t flown a commercial aircraft in the last four years and I am a little envious of our pilots going on course.

The news comes on the heels of Canada Jetlines’ announcement earlier this month about taking delivery of its first A320-200 aircraft. It hopes to acquire 15 aircraft by the year 2025.

Set to launch this spring, Canada Jetlines will start with a six-week run of Toronto-Miami flights, with plans to introduce Toronto service with the U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean throughout 2022.
