“Vaccinations, the general use of masks, social distancing and testing along with the strict health and safety protocols in place, are essential parts of the Cuba’s success”

The progress in the vaccination of its entire population, the dedication to scientific knowledge and healthcare for all, is bearing fruits as Cuba copes with the Covid-19 pandemic. In a recent statement, Lessner Gomez, Director of The Cuba Tourist Board in Canada, said that

Vaccinations, the general use of masks, social distancing and testing along with the strict health and safety protocols in place, are essential parts of the Cuba’s success”, adding: “It’s also good news that Cuba is upgrading its homegrown Covid-19 vaccine to confront Omicron, which give us confidence that we have everything in place to successfully control the pandemic and keep the country open”.

Cuba jumped ahead by developing its own vaccines and while the new Omicron variant begins to circle the globe, Cuba climbs to the top of Covid-19 vaccination charts plummeting the number of infections and death from covid-19 in recent weeks.

The schools have reopened, and Canadian sun seekers are welcome again, and we hope to keep it that way”, says Mr. Gomez, pointing out that “we don’t anticipate any changes in the entry requirements to the country”.

On behalf of The Ministry of Tourism of Cuba and the entire team at the Cuba Tourist Board, I want to thank all Canadian travel advisors for their continued support and as we sendoff a very challenging year we truly wish to all our travel partners a very Merry Xmas and a bright and healthy New Year, shall 2022 bring new adventures and shared success”, he concluded.
