U.S. President Joe Biden’s chief medical advisor, Dr. Anthony Fauci, says he would support a mandate for COVID-19 vaccinations for U.S. air travellers
U.S. President Joe Biden’s chief medical advisor, Dr. Anthony Fauci, says he would support a mandate for COVID-19 vaccinations for U.S. air travellers.
The Washington Post is reporting that while Dr. Fauci hasn’t proposed such a move, he would support it.
The Post’s interview with Dr. Fauci took place September 13. “It’s on the table; we haven’t decided yet,” he told The Post, when asked about mandated COVID vaccinations for air travellers. “But if the president said, ‘You know, let’s go ahead and do it,’ I would be supportive of it.”
Canada’s new mandate requiring full COVID-19 vaccination for all air, interprovincial rail and cruise ship passengers was announced August 13. There are exemptions for medical reasons and travellers under the age of 12.
