The tour operator will offer everything from far-flung expeditions and rail journeys to active adventure, new 18-35’s destinations, family holidays and sailing trips next year
Intrepid Travel is going all out for 2025, debuting 55 brand-new itineraries, six new countries and over 200 new experiences.
The tour operator will offer everything from far-flung expeditions and rail journeys to active adventure, new 18-35’s destinations, family holidays and sailing trips next year. New destinations in 2025 include: Ladakh, India; Hokkaido, Japan, Cape York, Australia, and Intrepid’s first land-based trip in Greenland. The Maldives and the West African nations of Benin, Togo, Ghana, Senegal and The Gambia have been introduced as new countries, meaning that Intrepid travellers will now be able to choose from over 120 countries worldwide.
Highlights of the new range include the following:
EXPEDITIONS & FAR-FLUNG ADVENTURES
- Greenland Expedition (10 days): Intrepid’s brand new 10-Day Greenland Expedition will take travellers inland to explore Greenlandic culture and traverse the country’s diverse landscapes by foot.
- Ghana (15 days): Intrepid is venturing into West Africa with a brand new 15-Day Benin, Togo and Ghana Adventure, taking travellers to rarely-visited spots like Teshie-Nungua in Ghana where skilled artisans craft elaborate art coffins that symbolize continued passion into the afterlife.
RAIL JOURNEYS
- Trans-Mongolian Railway (11 days): This epic 11-day adventure takes travellers to some of the world’s most remote regions while riding a section of the Trans-Mongolian Railway from China to Mongolia. Travellers will take the bullet train to inner Mongolia, staying in a traditional ger campsite and joining a family of camel herders for lunch along the way.
- Express to the Orient (15 days): Following the train route from Paris to Istanbul, this 15-day route takes travellers on local trains to follow the routes once used by the Orient Express carriages in the 19th century. From Strasbourg and Munich to Budapest and Plovdiv, there are plenty of stopovers to explore on this historical route.
ACTIVE & ENERGETIC
- India Trekking in Ladakh (14 days): Leaving the tourist track behind, this 14-day adventure takes travellers to Leh where they will join the Markha Valley trek through almost untouched lands. Highlights include ancient ruins, Buddhist monasteries and camping in the wilderness.
- Peru: Hike, Bike, Raft & SUP (10 days): Travellers will hike, bike, raft and paddle their way through Peru’s ancient sites and natural landscapes while on this 10-day visit to the home of the Incas. Guests will trek to Machu Picchu, raft along the Urubamba River and more.
18 TO 35s & NEXT GEN TRAVEL
- Essential Scandinavia (9 days): This trip takes a group of like-minded 18- to 35-year-olds to see the essential sites and cities of Scandinavia in Northern Europe, passing through Denmark, Sweden and Finland. Travellers will relax in a Finnish sauna, learn the art of Swedish Fika and take walking tours with their local leader.
- REAL AUSTRALIA (17 days): This 17-day journey from Sydney to Cairns is perfect for younger travellers who love the ocean, rainforest and wildlife. Highlights include meeting koalas at the Koala Hospital in Port Macquarie, visiting Magnetic Island, and paddleboarding with the Gumbaynggir community.
FAMILY TRAVEL
- Southern Thailand Family Holiday (8 days): This 8-day adventure covers the very best of southern Thailand, starting and ending in Phuket. Highlights include cruising along the Cheow Lan Lake aboard a longtail boat, a visit to Khao Sok National Park, and a batik painting lesson during a homestay experience in the Prhom Lok District.
- Iceland Family Holiday (6 days): On this 6-day adventure, travellers will explore Iceland’s crater lakes, coastal cliffs and Golden Circles, meet Icelandic horses on a farm stay, and see real lava up close at the Lava Show in Vik.
SAILING ADVENTURES
- Sail Maldives (8 days): On this eight-day getaway, travellers will climb aboard a traditional Dhoni boat for a sailing trip through the Maldives during which they’ll spend their days sailing, swimming and snorkelling.
- Sail Turkey: Fethiye to Bodrum (8 days): Travellers will set sail for the stunning Turkish Riviera on this eight-day sailing trip from Fethiye to Bodrum. Highlights include hiking, swimming and hopping from one bay to the next, stopping at Gocek, Ekincik, Marmaris, Datca and Bodrum.
IMPACT & PURPOSE
- Kenya Cycle Fundraiser (8 days): This unique one-off trip hosted by Intrepid’s non-profit, The Intrepid Foundation, invites travellers on an eight-day cycling adventure through Kenya’s wild landscapes in partnership with World Bicycle Relief. Travellers will spend three days cycling, spotting wildlife and exploring the savanna. They will also get the chance to connect with other fundraisers and learn about the impact that their fundraising will have on the local community.
