News / Martinique Sensation puts accessibility in the spotlight in 2026 return to Toronto market
Martinique Sensation is a celebration of all things Martinique

Toronto received a much-needed infusion of tropical warmth and French-Caribbean flair tonight as the Martinique Tourism Authority (MTA) returned for the 2026 edition of Martinique Sensation. Joined by dozens of travel agents, hoteliers, and tourism professionals at the Malaparte Event Space, the MTA shared a slew of exciting updates and highlights from the “Isle of Flowers”, celebrated a new season of non-stop flights, and reaffirmed Martinique’s friendship with the Canadian market.
“With Martinique Sensation now a recurring fixture in Martinique’s international schedule, we find ourselves continually looking forward to our next return to the Canadian market,” said Karine Roy-Camille, Deputy Director Americas, Martinique Promotion Bureau CMT CANADA.
“Whether it’s in Quebec or Ontario, we are so pleased that Martinique has been embraced so strongly by our Canadian friends and partners. We’re grateful to have the opportunity to reciprocate that enthusiasm and provide all-new reasons to fly south for the Winter in 2027 and beyond.”
Martinique Sensation is a celebration of all things Martinique, encompassing a lively reception, networking workshop, and miniature trade show. In a presentation delivered to attendees, the MTA took great care to explore Martinique’s robust offering to Canadian travellers, showcasing the country’s unique culture and shared values, its dynamic Creole culinary scene, its harmonious contrast of local charm and luxurious comfort, and its UNESCO-recognized natural beauty, among other virtues.
Accessibility was in the spotlight this year, as Martinique looks forward to a new season of direct flights from major Canadian gateways. Via Air Canada, Montreal (YUL) will enjoy the greatest access to the destination with up to six flights a week, while Quebec City (YQB) and Toronto (YYZ) will contribute one and two weekly flights, respectively. Alternatively, Air Transat will service the route with five flights a week from Montreal and two each from Quebec City and Toronto. As attendees learned, Canadians do not require a visa for stays under 3 months, and Martinique imposes no entry or exit fees.
Martinique Sensation 2026 was attended by prominent representatives from across the destination’s tourism industry. It marks one of two high points in Martinique’s Canadian market schedule, following on the heels of September’s Martinique Gourmande Festival.
“Our message to Canadians this year is simple: there’s more to see and experience in Martinique than ever, and it’s easier than ever to get there,” said Roy-Camille to attendees. "We look forward to welcoming more travellers from our #1 international market to our shores in the new year.”
