The Dominican Republic will add 20,000 new hotel rooms
The Dominican Republic will add 20,000 new hotel rooms throughout Punta Cana, Bayahibe, Puerto Plata, Samaná and Santo Domingo over the next few years, topping up an already considerable stock of 69,000. Many of the Dominican Republic ’s new resorts will be luxury properties.
In Los Corbanitos construction recently kicked off for the brand new Playa de Puntarena Hotel and Condominiums.
Meanwhile AMResorts is building a new property on Macao Beach just north of Punta Cana, with three hotels, a convention centre, green areas, sports facilities and a total of 2,313 rooms.
And Club Med is set to begin development of a hotel project in Miches, on the north coast between Punta Cana and Samana. The property will be a 5-Trident rated resort, the highest in the Club Med resort rankings, and will have 343 rooms. The hotel is due to open in 2019.
