News / Transat Distribution Canada successfully resumes its first-ever National Virtual Conference
38 preferred partners, more present than ever
October 2 - Transat Distribution Canada (TDC), Canada’s largest full-service travel agency network, is pleased to have brought together virtually some 1,000 travel professionals, 38 preferred partners and numerous TDC employees and managers on October 1, 2010, for its first-ever National Virtual Conference, under the theme Ready. Set. Go.
“The strength of our network has never been stronger than it is this year and that is why it was vital for us at TDC, to bring together all of our members and preferred partners, even if it meant virtually,” said Louise Fecteau, TDC’s General Manager. "In recent months, this strength has been embodied by the sharing of best practices among our members, who have been able to continue the conversation even more easily through this virtual platform. One of the elements that came out from almost all of these exchanges is the value of the travel professionals as we know it, and has taken on a whole new meaning through the testimonials of many travellers since March. I think the entire industry has realized it, and TDC intends to build on this in the near future”. She adds that "it’s when we go through times of such adversity that we realize the strength of working together, in the same direction, while being able to draw on the resources of our colleagues that makes all the difference. This is the strength of a network, the strength of TDC, and this is the message we wanted to convey to our members at this meeting. We are there for them, whether it is the team at our head office or all their colleagues from across Canada”.
38 preferred partners, more present than ever
This year's annual conference has taken on a whole new meaning, thanks in particular to the five new privileged partners signed by TDC in the last four months, which focus more on travel within Canada: CanaDream, Fresh Tracks Canada, La Forfaiterie, GVQ Travel and the most recent HVN. They have joined TDC's other important and established partners such as Transat, Air Canada Vacations, Tours Chanteclerc, Travel Brands and WestJet to name but a few.
Louise Fecteau is pleased to point out that "TDC was the first network to learn more, during the conference, about Transat’s new offering, the enhancement of the Option Flex service with the new Option Flex Standard, Option Flex Extra and Club Flex fares, which allow travellers to book their next trip with more peace of mind”, she concludes.
