News / Visit California welcomes Canadians to the Golden State for the World Series
This year, Visit California is investing $3 million in the market to continue building that cross-border bond
Visit California has launched a welcoming digital out-of-home campaign to greet Canadian Blue Jays fans at Dodger Stadium during the World Series, which kicked off in advance of Game 3 on October 27th. The message: “Canada, We’re Glad You Came to Play.” The ads will run through Game 5 in LA on October 29 across:
- Taxi and rideshare toppers and in-car screens
- Transit and street-level digital displays
- Large-format OOH panels
- A mobile digital billboard driving routes around the stadium to greet fans on their way to and from the games
The creative helps reinforce California’s deep connection to Canada—the state’s second-largest international market. In 2024, 1.8 million Canadians visited California, spending $3.72 billion. This year, Visit California is investing $3 million in the market to continue building that cross-border bond.
Beyond the World Series, California will host a lineup of marquee global sports events over the next three years including Super Bowl LX and LXI, the NBA All Star Game, FIFA World Cup matches, U.S. Open Golf at Pebble Beach, the BNP Paribas Open and the Toyota SaveMart 350 NASCAR race. The slate culminates with the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games – and California wants Canadians to know that its saving them a seat!
