Airlines including Air Canada, WestJet, Sunwing and Porter have all posted travel alerts ahead of winter storm conditions expected to impact Ontario and Quebec on January 25 and 26, 2023.

Air Canada

Air Canada has brought in its flexible rebooking policy for passengers looking to make alternative flight arrangements for January 25 or  26 for the following gateways: Toronto (YYZ and YTZ), Montreal, Ottawa and Quebec City.

WestJet

WestJet’s flexible change/cancel guidelines are in effect for travel January 25 – 26, 2023, for the following gateways: Toronto, London, Hamilton, Ottawa, Kitchener/Waterloo and Montreal.

Sunwing

Ahead of the storm, Sunwing has posted the following update: “Heavy snowfall is expected in Ontario and Quebec starting Wednesday, January 25 into Thursday, January 26, with a total accumulation of 10-20 cm of snow resulting in reduced visibility. Travellers with flight departures during this period are encouraged to sign up for flight alerts and check their flight status before travelling, and should allow plenty of time to arrive at the airport. We are monitoring the weather forecast closely over the next 24-48 hours and will do all that we can to minimize disruptions to customers’ travel plans.”

Porter has posted weather alerts for the following gateways: Boston, Chicago-Midway (MDW), Montreal, Newark, Ottawa and Toronto-City (YTZ) for January 25, and for Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto-City for January 26.
