G Adventures
Discover three different ways to see the Maldives with G Adventures

Known for volcanic atolls and crystal-clear waters, this blissful Indian Ocean archipelago welcomes travellers whether they’re looking to snorkel among coral reefs or just relax on a sunny beach.

Choose between G Adventures’  island hopping on a land-based tour; sailing aboard a traditional dhoni (max 10 pax); or aboard our newly-refurbished and upgraded dhoni, the Sea Farer (max 14 pax).

Why sail the Maldives with G?

• Enjoy three different ways to see this island nation: on a land tour, aboard a traditional dhoni boat, or aboard our newest Maldives fleet member, the Sea Farer • The amazing crew, comprised of one Chief Experience Officer (CEO) and several boat crew (aboard sailing tours) • Experience the Maldives more affordably. In a destination typically known for expensive floating villas and all-inclusive resorts, our tours get travellers there for less • Tours include all meals, tea, and coffee as well as snorkelling equipment

When to go

There’s no bad time to visit the Maldives — this is a year-round destination.

You should know

• The Maldives are dry islands, so there’s no alcohol served on the land portions of G Adventures tours. If travellers are looking to have a drink, they’re only served on resorts and boats. Alcohol and soft drinks are available for purchase on board

• Out of respect for local culture, travellers should bring a cover-up (such as a rain jacket or shawl) to wear when exploring the islands on land

Who are these tours for?

• People looking to explore the Maldives for less than the price of all-inclusive floating villas, while experiencing a cultural side they might not get when staying at a resort • Maldives land-based tours are great for travellers who are prone sea sickness and would rather sleep on land

Meet the Sea Farer

Fully refurbished in 2018, this 27-metre (88-foot) upgraded dhoni (traditional Maldivian sailboat) comfortably accommodates 16 travellers. It holds four en suite cabins with bunk beds, two en suite cabins with double beds and separate single beds, and one en suite cabin with twin beds. The boat features a bar, dining area, library, sun deck, and television with DVD player.
