News / Air Canada’s latest holiday spot pays tribute to Dreams Take Flight
“We pour our heart and soul into every holiday spot we make – and this one has extra special meaning for all of us at Air Canada”

Air Canada’s latest holiday campaign captures the magic of the season through the eyes of a child.
Titled ‘Holiday Dreams Take Flight,’ this year’s live-action spot shines a spotlight on Dreams Take Flight, a long-running initiative powered by Air Canada employees, volunteers, sponsors and the Air Canada Foundation.

A combination of 90-second, 30-second and 15-second versions launches on December 10 on social media and digital platforms.
“We pour our heart and soul into every holiday spot we make – and this one has extra special meaning for all of us at Air Canada,” says John Xydous – Director, Brand Strategy & Content Marketing at Air Canada. “With Holiday Dreams Take Flight, we’re showcasing the trips we’re proud to help make possible for more than a thousand children each year, while paying tribute to the many employees and volunteers, both active and retired, who continue to donate their time and energy to Dreams Take Flight.”
The video follows Kaiennenhawi (Hawi), a seven-year-old girl from the Kanien’kehà:ka community of Akwesasne, on her journey to Walt Disney World Resort. From the thrill of boarding her first flight to meeting Mickey Mouse himself, Hawi’s experiences highlight how Dreams Take Flight create unforgettable memories for deserving children.
For more than 35 years, Dreams Take Flight has given children aged six to 13 who face physical, mental or social adversity the chance to take part in extraordinary travel experiences. The initiative operates eight annual charity-chartered flights from cities across Canada, each journey designed to surround participating children with excitement, support and encouragement.
Air Canada and the Air Canada Foundation play key roles by supplying aircraft and providing additional support services to every chapter. The program is entirely volunteer-driven, with Air Canada employees leading the effort. Flight crews decorate aircraft, ground teams coordinate logistics, and volunteers oversee the many details that make each trip seamless.
With the holiday season now in full swing, Air Canada expects to welcome more than one million travellers on over 5,000 flights across its network. Passengers will also see seasonal touches in lounges and onboard, including festive meals on select flights between Dec. 24 and 25. The airline has expanded its in-flight entertainment collection with additional holiday films, giving customers more options to enjoy while travelling to more than 180 destinations worldwide.
