News / European Union takes Canada off its green-light list: reports
Canada has been removed from the EU’s list of approved countries for travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic
October 21 - Reports are coming in that Canada has been removed from the EU’s list of approved countries for travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Canadians have been approved for travel to and from Europe since July 1. Back in June the EU pulled together a list of more than a dozen countries whose citizens will be allowed to visit EU countries in its first phase of reopening and Canada was on the list.
According to reports from the CBC and other consumer news outlets, Canada has been removed from the list amid rising caseload numbers. Also removed from the list, according to reports, are Georgia and Tunisia.
Canada is also so far not on the UK’s safe travel list.
All lists are reviewed every few weeks with adjustments made according to risk factors and caseload numbers.
