Flair Airlines’ pilots have overwhelmingly ratified a new three-year collective agreement with the airline following more than 10 months of negotiations.

The agreement, reached between Flair Airlines management and the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), was approved by 89% of eligible pilots who voted. It takes effect immediately.

According to ALPA, the new contract includes improvements to compensation, retirement, scheduling, career progression and overall quality of life, while bringing Flair pilots more in line with industry standards.

This agreement reflects the strength and solidarity our pilots demonstrated over more than ten months of negotiations,” said First Officer Aimee Wintle, chair of the Flair Master Executive Council. “Our pilots stood together with a clear goal: to secure an agreement that recognizes their professionalism, improves their quality of life, and positions Flair pilots for long-term success. Today’s result is a testament to the power of a unified pilot group.

Wintle said the agreement recognizes the role pilots play in the airline’s operation while delivering meaningful gains across several key areas.

This agreement delivers meaningful improvements for Flair pilots and recognizes the professionalism and commitment they bring to the operation every day,” added Wintle. “I want to thank our Negotiating Committee, Master Executive Council, and all our pilots for standing together throughout this process. The strength and solidarity shown by our membership over the past ten months were instrumental in achieving this result.

Flair’s 270 pilots operate scheduled passenger service across Canada as well as to destinations in the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America.
