Tahiti Tourisme
Tahiti Tourisme's new sustainable donation platform

A recent report from Booking.com found that 66% of Canadian travellers express a desire to leave destinations in a better condition than when they arrived. As Canadian travellers increasingly seek ways to travel responsibly, HINA, Tahiti Tourisme’s new sustainable donation platform, allows them to make a positive impact on French Polynesia, comprised of 118 islands and atolls in the south pacific.

Through HINA, Canadian travellers can contribute to one-of-four non-profit projects that prioritize socioeconomic development, cultural preservation, and environmental protection in The Islands of Tahiti.

  1. Run for Dogs: Funding animal welfare across the islands via a global ultramarathon challenge.
  2. Va’a Hiva: Reviving ancient Polynesian voyaging traditions by building traditional canoes.
  3. Hono Tai: Developing a land-based whale and dolphin observation route from publicly accessible viewpoints in Mo’orea.
  4. Dolphins of Tiputa: Raising awareness for ethical dolphin tourism in Rangiroa.

For more information on each project, please visit the HINA website here

All projects have been carefully vetted by Tahiti Tourisme and trusted local partners including the Anāvai Foundation and FAPE – Te Ora Naho. To ensure transparency, donors receive email updates on the project that they support, ensuring that their contribution is making a real impact in the local community.
