Set yourself apart on land

Los Cabos is, of course, known for the bounty of experiences in the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortez – it is called the “aquarium of the world” after all. But that’s just the beginning of what you can see and do. Here are just five of the many ways to enjoy Los Cabos on land.

Swing Away

Jack Nicklaus and Tom Fazio are among some of the finest course designers in the world that have built beautiful and challenging courses in the desert foothills and along the seaside cliffs of Los Cabos. In total, there are 18 championship courses perfect for any level of golfer, including three on Golf Digest’s “World 100 Greatest Golf Courses” list. It’s a peaceful way to stay active and admire the beauty of the location at the southern tip of the Baja peninsula.

Going Up

The natural rock formations around Los Cabos and the Sierra de la Laguna mountains offer different ways to experience the land first-hand. Let the experts at Dharma Expeditions take you on hikes up and around the outback in the National Reserve Sierra de la Laguna, or try any number of adventures with Cabo Outfitters, who will show you the ropes of rock climbing and repelling.

Ride Along the Beach

If you can’t get enough of the ocean – and who could blame you – then try coasting right along with it on horseback or camelback. Tour operators will guide you along the beach as the ocean waves crash in and out and take you through the countryside as they point out the native plants and animals of this region. It’s a completely different and unforgettable way to experience the natural beauty of Los Cabos.

Out and About in Town

From immersing yourself in local culture, visiting museums and galleries, or heading out for some nightlife, the towns and cities of Los Cabos are not to be missed. San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas need no introduction, but surrounding villages like Todos Santos, La Paz and Santiago offer a quiet escape and an opportunity to see what daily life is like for locals. Dive right into a new adventure on land and discover a new perspective of Los Cabos.

There’s still more to explore in the cities, towns, mountains and desert around Los Cabos. Keep digging and fill your getaway with experiences that speak to you.
