Cozumel reports a 104 percent increase in the number of arriving cruise ship passengers during the first three months of 2023. The increase in figures has consolidated the island as one of the preferred cruise destinations in the Mexican Caribbean.
These positive numbers generate a revitalizing effect in various sectors linked to the arrival of passengers, such as tourism, food and recreational activities.
The Quintana Roo government has implemented strong actions to strengthen the state’s main industry.
The growth of cruise tourism in Cozumel during the first three months of 2023 is reflected in the 390 arrivals registered, which represents an increase of 13 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
In addition, the number of passengers increased from 604,445 to 1,230,627, representing a 104 percent growth in arrivals in this period compared to last year.
These results are part of the successful closing of the year 2022, which recorded a total of 1,117 cruises and 2,943,760 passengers in Cozumel.
By the year 2023, it is estimated that there will be 1,154 cruise ship arrivals in Cozumel and 3,726,115 passengers, which shows continued growth in the cruise industry on the island.
