Canada’s low cost airline Swoop has announced new London, Ontario to Cancun routes. The two direct flights per week are scheduled to begin December 3 of this year and run until April 29, 2023.

Swoop made the announcement Wednesday, saying they are continuing to add more flights to its winter itinerary. The direct flights will leave Ontario’s London International Airport twice a week bound for Cancun International.

The Calgary-based airline has also added flights from London to Orlando and continuing flights to Edmonton, which began in June, until January 8, 2023.

“Swoop is excited to further our partnership with London International Airport with new non-stop flights to popular sun and fun destinations,” said Bert van der Stege, head of Commercial and Finance at Swoop. “We know residents of London value connectivity from their home airport,” he added.

Scott McFadzean, President and Chief Executive of London International Airport, says the airline saw “strong growth through 2019 and the first quarter of 2020,” prior to the pandemic.

“It is amazing to have Swoop back offering these incredible destinations at low rates from your local, easy and comfortable airport,” he said.

Last month, the Quintana Roo Secretary of Tourism, Bernardo Cueto Riestra, reported a direct focus on traveling Canadians since they are the second largest tourist market for the Mexican Caribbean region.
