WestJet has suspended service between Calgary and Guadalajara, Mexico effective Oct. 19, 2026 through April 24, 2027

WestJet has reportedly suspended service on one of its scheduled sun routes for winter 2026-2027.

According to aviation consulting firm Ailevon Pacific, WestJet has suspended service between Calgary and Guadalajara, Mexico effective Oct. 19, 2026 through April 24, 2027.

Earlier WestJet confirmed a number of route suspensions for its U.S. network. Canadian carriers have been cutting back transborder capacity for more than a year amid weaker demand from Canada. While year-over-year Canada-to-U.S. are improving slightly (up 3.2% in June 2026 vs. June 2025, as reported recently), they’re still down significantly compared to pre-‘Elbows Up’.

The U.S. routes suspended from WestJet’s future schedules include: Ft. Lauderdale, Kauai and Orlando from Vancouver; Las Vegas flights from Toronto, Regina and Saskatoon; Edmonton-Abbotsford and Toronto-Kelowna. There are also reports that WestJet has suspended the following flights from late October 2026 through late April or May 2027: Vancouver-Atlanta; Vancouver-Los Angeles; Calgary-Chicago O’Hare; and Edmonton-Ottawa.
